Who has dealt with corrupt police?

Hi, I know alot of our police our invaluable and they do a great job and without them this country would be a mess. But the stories i read in the paper, the stories i hear and what i have seen really disheartens me and disgusts me that our own police force there to uphold the law are the ones who get away with alot more than people realise. Recently I have seen police abuse there power of authority to satisfy there own ego and abuse there authority due to them being bored and having nothing to do, which in my eyes is better them not doing anything because nothing is happening for them to do so it means crime is reducing. I've seen police stop elderly people in the street to check their shopping bags saying its classed as a random stop and search - does anyone agree our police should be monitored more closely. A good example is a local officer in my area has recently been charged with abuse of 2 children under 10 and having 270 pornographic pictures of kids on his computer and he was an inspector: unfortunately there are quite a few similar cases in recent years that have occurred in my area.
